What is the ultimate answer?

No. I don’t mean the answer 42, which you got from the movie. I mean the real one.

Let’s say we want to build some program to simulate a universe, or merely a world. What are the very basic elements and equations in your code?

After thinking of it for a moment, you may come up with some answers like “something from math, something from physics, and something from chemistry.” Well, that is not the ultimate one.

Think of it. What are the actual reasons that cause these things to happen? Before the Big Bang there was barely nothing. Then what happened? The energy of the whole universe burst out at once. The objects, what we see, what we touch, and what we are, are all just energy. The energy just exists.

Then, how did the energy transform? The energy moves? The energy associates with each other? What is the actual reason for the gravitation? Yes, you see, That’s the ultimate answer.

So how can we know the answer? To build a computer that is smarter than us and help us think of it?

Well, in my opinion, humans may not build anything that may be smarter until they find the answer.

Yes, you may also have noticed that the research progress on the basics of physics has paused for years. People just cannot figure them out. Looking back to the history of science, you may notice that only a few people can make such progress, and yes, it is also getting harder and harder.

So, you may wonder, that could we get the answer someday?

That’s a question of mine, too. Sometimes I think we humans are too weak and too dumb. We fight for little things that can not even change any part of the universe, and there are always wars. Isn’t finding the answer the purpose of our life and the ultimate mission given to the mankind? Then why not collaborate to try to figure it out? Even we can only make little progress?

Everyone loves peace and hates wars. We also know that the resources are not enough to support everyone to live in a comfortable environment. Maybe the effort that we are currently making is to make use of the natural resources on the Earth and try to provide such an environment for everyone, or maybe we are not. I guess someday we can find the answer, or we will never find it.
